About
Built from the shift.
Vedom grew out of nine months of running a hotel’s operations from the inside: housekeeping, handover, guests, training and events. The problems were never the rooms. They were the work around them.
Why this exists.
Most hotels still run their day on messaging groups, printed sheets, whiteboards and four to six tools that don’t talk to each other. None of them knows what the PMS knows, and the PMS knows nothing about the people.
Modern PMSs like Apaleo and Mews know the state of every room and reservation. What they don’t know is who is on shift, who is qualified, what the guest in 212 asked for, and whether the work got done.
Vedom is the half that was missing: the system of work beside the system of record. It turns what the PMS knows into work owned by a person, writes the result back, and lets anyone on the team ask the house what it knows.
The name.
Vedom · VEH-dom
Vedom (VEH-dom) joins two of the oldest words we have: veda, knowledge, and domus, house. It’s the house that knows. The ending has company in wisdom and kingdom: the realm of knowing. The hotel’s knowledge, its rooms, routines, guests, people and history, lives in one place, and every new starter can tap into it from day one.
The house that knows. Every room, every shift.
What we believe.
- 01
Plain words
The room, the time, the next step. No jargon on the screen or in our sales calls.
- 02
The PMS owns rooms and money
We own people and work, and we stay out of the rest.
- 03
People decide
The assistant answers with its sources and drafts. It never judges staff, and a person signs off anything that matters.
- 04
No shortcuts with data
Documented APIs, credentials issued to us, EU data residency by default.
The company.
Vedom is independent, founder-led and European, founded by Theodore Sidebotham, who has worked hotel shifts. It is in build with ten founding hotels, and pilots will run with a small number of hotels at a time so we can be on the floor with them.
Put your hotel forward.
Ten founding places for hotels on Apaleo. One email field, and you confirm it before anything else happens. The founder reads every application; yes means a 20-minute call about your hardest morning.
